"COYOTE" (
Coyoted Pheasant Soft-Hackle) has been approved by Montana Fly Company. Check out their website (
www.montanafly.com), click "
New Flies 2012" at "
FLIES" on the left-hand side of your screen, then scroll down a bit, and click on "
Soft Hackle". You can see my own design as "
Yamamoto's Coyoted Pheasant Soft Hackle". I really love
MFC's mass-reproduction of my Coyote. It's just lovely!!

You can wait and buy my COYOTE from any fly-shops with
MFC flies next year. But meanwhile, you can buy it directly from me through my sales blog (
http://leftytyer.blogspot.com) or
Hatch Finders Fly Shop (
www.hatchfinders.com) in Livingston. Dean is my outfitter. I convinced him that my Coyote does catch fish!! Dean and his daughter Dandy tie all the flies for the shop (no factory tied flies) so it's quite an honor that my ties fill their bins. I tied for them 5 dozens of size 8 and another 5 dozens of size 10. I consumed two spools of
Pearsall's Gossamer silk =
90 meter!!!! And I picked up all the ramp feathers and
aftershaft plumes from
5 pheasant skins!!!!

You can call or email at Hatch Finders to purchase my own fresh ties of COYOTE. If you ever visit, bins are filled like this..........

If you ever plan to visit Montana in the fall, I suggest you to have one or more COYOTE in your box. I primarily designed it to swing and strip for fall-run trout from
Hebgen Lake to Madison River in Yellowstone Park. But COYOTE has no limit. It can be fished as a drowned/emerging
stoneflies, October
Caddis, and baby trout/minnow.
Now I've got to tie more flies for the fall and submit more original patterns to MFC!!!!
Congrats on MFC accepting your fly. Excellent. Looks like a great fly. Tight Lines.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment. My Coyote is not only good looking but also it does catch fish as I tested for the last couple years. Tight Lines and Tight Thread Wraps!!
